More Know Before You Go

There are answers to most of your questions in the FAQ section below!

  • All session are taking place in Gallier Hall. There is no “conference hotel”

  • It can get VERY COLD inside of Gallier Hall thanks to some overachieving air conditioning - bring a sweater or a jacket!

  • Buy your tickets ahead of time - there is a $10 fee for tickets at the door.

  • Parking around Gallier Hall can be tricky - check out the Bob Dunn Guide to Parking in New Orleans for more info and pro tips! —>

  • MSY has a taxi stand that (usually) has plenty of cabs. Exit baggage claim to the pickup curb and turn left.

It's a flat $36 rate from MSY to downtown New Orleans.

You can also use Uber or Lyft, or coordinate with other attendees to carpool.

  • Parking in downtown New Orleans can get expensive, but there are plenty of commercial lots and parking meters (check out Parkopedia.com for rates and to make reservations).

Gallier Hall is also on the iconic St. Charles Ave streetcar line, and short walk from the Canal St. streetcar line. If you are an early riser, park outside of the central business district and take the streetcar!

    Note on the streetcar:

    • It costs $1.25 each way

    • There is no schedule, it comes when it comes

    • There are skinny poles along St Charles Ave neutral ground (median) that say "CAR STOP" - that's where you should wait)

    • It's not the fastest mode of transit, but it is the loveliest. St Charles Ave is beautiful, so enjoy the ride!

  • Gallier Hall will be open for you to pick up your name badge and swag bag starting Thursday September 26th at 4:30pm.

  • Gallier Hall is on St. Charles Ave - it's a huge majestic building with white columns across from Lafayette Square.

The ENTRANCE for Gallier Hall is ON THE LEFT SIDE of the building on Lafayette St.

  • You should have received an email from EventBrite with your order confirmation.

Use the same email address you used when purchasing the ticket to log into EventBrite to retrieve your ticket.

You do NOT need to print out your ticket for entry.

If you did not receive this email (and it's not in your spam), and you are SURE that you registered, please reach out to us at grassrootsradio2024@gmail.com

REMEMBER - There is a $10 processing fee at the door, so don't wait to get your tickets!

  • All four days of the conference including:

    • Thursday reception light snacks and beverages

    • Friday & Saturday light breakfast, lunch, and happy hour networking reception

    • Sunday farewell "brunch"

    • GRC 2024 Swag Bag

  • These are "closed door" invite-only sessions for the Pacifica Association of Affiliates, and the BIPOC-only Our Hour luncheon.

If you want to attend but aren't sure if you can, please send us an email.

  • Great question! We want GRC 2024 to be as open and inclusive as possible and are taking great care in making sure that all needs are accommodated.

In your registration form, there are questions about dietary restrictions and accessibility needs. If you would like to confirm that we received your response and are aware of you situation, please send us an email.

All meals will include a selection of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Gallier Hall has an elevator that is centrally located and easy to access.

Most of the breakout sessions will NOT include sound amplification, but the main ballroom (keynote sessions) will have a microphpne/PA system.

  • Excellent question! We are pulling together recommendations from our WHIV volunteers and our local station coalition for food, music, and more! Check back here for more information!

  • Local stations will have "open house" hours throughout the weekend so you can come and see our digs!

Locations and open house hours will be posted here once they are available.

Many stations are nearby bus lines, streetcar lines, or only a few miles away (New Orleans isn't very big)! Carpool with some pals, call an Uber/Lyft/taxi or hop on one of the Blue Bikes (New Orleans's e-assist bike share).

  • We are updating the website as fast as we can - stay tuned for detailed schedules and speaker bios!
